How we collect, use and look after your details.

Who We Are

Opuluxe Moments is an event styling business based in Bradford, UK. We decide how the personal details you share through this website are used, which makes us responsible for them under UK data protection law.

If you have any questions about this policy or your details, email us at info@opuluxemoments.co.uk.

What We Collect

  • When you send an enquiry, use Build Your Event or check out your basket: your name, email address and phone number, your event date and times, your postcode or delivery address, the choices you make, and anything you add in your notes.
  • Photos and designs you upload for inspiration or create in the backdrop designer.
  • When you create an account: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your password. Your password is stored in scrambled form by our login provider, and we can never see it. If you save a backdrop design, we keep it with your account.
  • When you pay online: the amount, the date and Stripe’s payment reference. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • When you leave a review: your name, the type of event, your star rating and what you wrote.
  • When you use the delivery calculator: the postcode you type, so we can work out the distance.
  • Visit statistics, such as which pages are viewed, counted without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Technical details such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting and security services use to keep the website secure.

How We Use It

  • To reply to your enquiry, prepare your quote, and arrange and deliver your booking. We need your details to do this, because you have asked us to.
  • To run your account, so you can see your enquiries and pay for your booking online.
  • To take payments and keep financial records, which the law requires us to do.
  • To email you about your enquiry, for example when your quote is ready, or when we accept or decline your booking.
  • To show reviews on our website. We may show your name with your review, and will take it down if you ask.
  • To keep the website secure and understand how it is used, so we can improve it.

In data protection terms, we use your details because we need them to deal with your enquiry or booking (“contract”), because the law requires it for our financial records (“legal obligation”), or, for reviews, security and visit statistics, because it is in our legitimate interests to run and improve our business in ways you would expect (“legitimate interests”).

We do not send marketing emails, and we never sell your details.

Who We Share It With

We use a small number of trusted services to run this website. They only handle your details to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase, which stores enquiries, accounts and uploaded images on servers in Ireland.
  • Vercel, which hosts the website and provides our visit statistics.
  • Stripe, which processes card payments.
  • Resend, which sends emails about your enquiry.
  • postcodes.io, which looks up postcodes for the delivery calculator.
  • Cloudflare, which checks that forms are filled in by a person rather than a bot.

Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your details are handled outside the UK, they are protected by safeguards that UK data protection law recognises, such as approved contract terms.

We may also share details where the law requires it, for example with HMRC.

How Long We Keep It

  • Enquiries that do not go ahead: up to two years after we last hear from you, then deleted.
  • Bookings and payment records: six years after the end of the financial year they belong to, as UK tax rules require.
  • Your account: until you ask us to close it.
  • Photos and designs you upload but never send to us: deleted automatically after seven days.
  • Reviews: for as long as they are shown on our website, or until you ask us to remove them.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the details we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your details
  • stop or limit how we use them
  • send them to you, or to someone else, in a format a computer can read

Email us at info@opuluxemoments.co.uk to make a request. It is usually free, and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, please tell us so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and Your Browser

  • If you sign in, we use cookies to keep you signed in. Signing in cannot work without them, so we do not ask before setting them.
  • Your basket, the contact details you type into it, and your Build Your Event progress are saved in your own browser, so a refresh does not lose them. They stay on your device until you send them to us. Saved Build Your Event progress expires after seven days, and clearing your browser data removes all of it.
  • Our visit statistics do not use cookies and do not identify you.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
